I guess the best way to start off the new blog is to post some of the greatest hits from the old blog. Most of my writing is housed over on Striving with Systems. This is one of the more popular pieces. To reiterate, I support intersectional feminism full stop. But if the originator of the term does not interpret her own theory to include marginalized persons of other species (to my knowledge, Kimberle Crenshaw does not abstain from animal exploitation), then it is not a framework upon which I choose to hang my approach to animal justice. Although my animal justice education includes and endorses intersectional feminism, intersectionality should rightfully focus on the needs of black and brown women an femmes.
